“This attention reassures us”
Sale of the company Isab. "Satisfaction and modest optimism" by Filctem Cgil, Femc Cisl and Uiltec the day after the visit of the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Mr. Urso.
“The regulations have made it possible to carry out a painless ownership change for the workers of the plant"
"Satisfaction and modest optimism" by the trade union representatives Filctem Cgil, Femc Cisl and Uiltec the day after the visit of the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Mr. Adolfo Urso. The day before, while on our regional pages they asked the Minister to reply on the most pressing subjects of this industrial phase (internal and linked activities employment guarantees in the change of Isab ownership, energy transition, but also the IAS purifier and the "disappeared" balancing decree, among others things) some regional secretaries complained of their absence in this double meeting that was held in the territory on Friday: Confindustria assembly on energy transition and meeting in Isab.
It is a crossing that requires to be explained: the general secretaries of CGIL and CISL Mr. Roberto Alosi and Mrs.Vera Carasi would have deemed their involvement necessary considering that the sale of the company Isab affects the world of work which does not only concern the Chemists trade (which in reality was represented by the trade secretaries) but also the linked activities, therefore, metalworkers, civil construction workers, etc...that is, everything that goes around Isab and the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance work to which the plant is subject. They will have the opportunity to raise the questions in the first official table to that effect which will be held on the 23rd in Rome with the new owners of Isab, Goi Energy, before the government representatives.
Meanwhile, as said above, the general secretaries of Filctem, Femca and Uiltec Mr.Fiorenzo Amato, Mr.Alessandro Tripoli and Mr.Andrea Bottaro express "satisfaction and modest optimism" after the meeting with the Minister Mr. Urso. “The attention shown by the government – they say – with the exercise of the Golden Power on the sale of the Isab refinery reassures us. The regulations have made it possible to carry out a painless ownership change for the workers of Siracusa. Now – they add – we need to know the industrial plan to attain the guarantees of a clear future”.
In the note they list what was already said during the meeting held at Isab recreational club before the minister on Friday: "a huge investment plan to modernize and build new plants is needed, to meet the challenges of energy transition and future refining, in this way only will we be able to guarantee development and employment, going beyond the 5-year guarantee provided for by the decree.”
The same union note underlines how "Mr.Amato, Mr.Tripoli and Mr.Bottaro" "thanked the Minister Mr. Urso for the attention shown to the workers and the trade union organizations" with the "important" meeting held on Friday defined as "a good roadway for the beginning of a process which can revitalize the industrial area with everyone's contribution". And then a symbolic "the union is here".
The topics dealt also in the morning during the Confindustria meeting at Irem will provide discussions opportunities for months to come. The Managing Director of Irem Mr. Giovanni Musso thanked Confindustria on that event "for selecting our company. This – he added – on the one hand fills us with pride and on the other demonstrates that today Irem is a well-established Italian industrial company.
